ARQULE SUBSCRIBES TO SBI's PROMAXTM 3-DIMENSIONAL PROTEOMICS DATABASE
SAN DIEGO, CA - (March 8, 2001) -
Privately held Structural Bioinformatics, Inc. (SBI) today announced that
that ArQule has subscribed to SBI's ProMaxTM
3-dimensional drug target protein structure database.
Under the terms of the agreement, ArQule has access to the database containing
multiple families of SBI's highly accurate, computationally derived 3-D protein
structures.
"Structure is the key to unlocking the coming post-genomic revolution in
human medicine," said Dr. Edward T. Maggio, Chairman, President and Chief
Executive Officer of SBI. "ArQule is a leader in development of innovative
proprietary technologies for drug discovery, collaborating with a growing
number of leading pharmaceutical companies. ArQule's subscription to SBI's
ProMaxTM database represents continued
validation of the value and utility of large-scale protein structural
information. SBI is very pleased to be working with ArQule to assist in
furthering their objectives."
Joe Fanelli, Vice President of Marketing & Sales for SBI, further elaborated on
the functionality the database provides to its customers. "Among the many uses
of the ProMaxTM protein structure database is the
integration of SBI's proprietary protein structural content with combinatorial
chemical libraries to rapidly and accurately structurally discriminate specific
targets of interest from unintended targets. Using this approach, the
specificity of drug libraries for specific targets can be substantially enhanced."
