(SBI) today announced that James A. Myer, Ph.D. has joined the Company's Board of Directors. Dr. Myer was the founder and has served as the President and Chairman of the Board of Photon Research Associates, Inc. (PRA) since 1976. Under his guidance PRA has grown to its current staff of 150 persons in six locations across the United States. PRA is a leading provider of physics-based modeling, simulation and analysis products for government and commercial markets, providing expert research services and software tools for electro-optical sensor design; aircraft and satellite simulation; mission planning and analysis; algorithm development and data warehousing. Prior to founding PRA, Dr. Myer held a number of key management positions at SAIC and at the Avco Everett Research Laboratory where, in addition to other responsibilities, he managed the AMOS Optical Site at the Mt. Haleakala summit on Maui, Hawaii. Dr. Myer was instrumental in the formation of four PRA subsidiaries: Moldyn, Inc., recently acquired by SBI; Photon Simulations, Inc. and PRA Simulations, Inc., both of which were ultimately acquired by Computer Associates; as well as EarthScan Network, Inc. Dr. Myer currently serves on the Board of four innovative companies in the realm of high technology computational tools. In 1972, Dr. Myer was awarded a patent for the Tunable Laser, just one highlight of his work at the forefront of technical innovation. He currently serves on the Army Science Board and is a scientific advisor to a number of governmental policy making organizations.
