SAN DIEGO, CA - January 21, 1997 (Business Wire) - Structural Bioinformatics Inc. (SBI),
San Diego, developer of leading edge supercomputer-based technology for rapid conversion of novel
gene sequence information into protein structural information and drug lead compounds, announced
that Dr. Mahendra G. Shah has been elected to the Structural Bioinformatics' Board of Directors.
Dr. Shah is Vice President of EJ Financial Enterprises, Chicago, where he has principal responsibilities for assessing new health care opportunities, negotiating and structuring deals, and providing strategic assistance to the group's active international portfolio of companies. Dr. Shah is on the Board of Introgen Therapeutics, Inc., Horizon Pharmaceutical Corporation, Aegis Technology, Inc., Murty Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Vitamed Laboratories, Inc., Editha Scientific, Inc., and Criticare Laboratories. Dr. Shah, who has approximately 25 years of experience in the health care, was the Senior Director of New Business Development for Fujisawa USA. Prior to this, he held various scientific and management positions with Bristol Myers-Squibb and Schering-Plough.
