Software Engineer II
This project involves a full-time computer programmer with a sound mathematics and software background who can translate scientific algorithms into efficient computer programs in Java. He or she should also be an advanced C++ programmer able to convert some of our existing code into Java and to rewrite some C++ routines with an eye toward code efficiency. His or her tasks will also involve writing Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) in Java using new Java 3D subroutines, and will require an in-depth knowledge of OpenGL subroutines. To satisfy our customer's needs, these programs should be fast both in terms of display and calculation. The programmer must also have an in-depth knowledge of Oracle, as our toolkit uses an Oracle database. The programs to be written must retrieve as well as add new data online with minimal runtime and CPU time and without conflicting with other operations.
